Waste Treatment Services
Biogenie is
a comprehensive environmental services company providing on site and off
site remedial solutions. As part of our off site services, Biogenie operates,
through its wholly owned subsidiary, SOLUTION EAU AIR SOL Inc. ("SOLUTION"),
a treatment facility located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Our treatment
facility, which is certified by the Quebec Ministry of Environment, uses
an innovative yet proven biological treatment process, the ex situ Biopile.
To date, Biogenie has successfully applied this technology to treat millions
of tons of contaminated soil and RCRA hazardous waste.
With its treatment
centre and client-oriented services, Biogenie provides a turnkey, cost-effective
and final solution in response to the needs of our clients. Our client
base includes: real estate developers, excavation contractors, waste brokers,
environmental consultants, engineering firms, government agencies as well
as industrial and manufacturing companies.
At Biogenie,
we welcome and encourage audits of our facility by customers and regulators
alike. Biogenie adheres to strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
procedures which include a tracking system that maintains an up-to-date
record of the history of the accepted wastes, including its original characterization
profile, dates and volumes received as well as QA/QC laboratory results
following treatment.

TREATMENT PROCESS
Biogenie uses
a biological treatment process: the ex situ Biopile. This process creates
the most favorable conditions for the rapid growth of specific, naturally
occurring microorganisms that have the ability to degrade organic contaminants
into non-toxic compounds. Optimum conditions for the biodegradation process
are created by controlling various parameters including oxygen level,
nutrient concentrations, moisture content, pH level, and temperature.
Wastes are
treated until the criteria established by the Quebec Ministry of Environment
are met. Once treatment is completed, the waste is disposed of or beneficially
reused/recycled according to applicable standards. Upon request, a Certificate
of Disposal can be issued to document the total elimination of future
environmental liability.
