Regularly involved in various technical tasks such as test pits, sampling, land surveying, excavation monitoring, soil sampling and report writing, Biogenie technicians are usually responsible for field operations and the safety of the workers. Their technical competence, as well as their organization and communication skills, are regularly put to the test when dealing with several priorities and people at a time. It is important that they work in a structured and orderly fashion so that the project manager receives detailed and clear information regarding the progression of work. Project Manager – Site Remediation

Just like an orchestra, a project requires a conductor. At Biogenie, this is the job of the Project Manager. Based on his/her level of experience, the project manager will be partially or totally in charge of site remediation projects. He or she may act as the sole person responsible for a project or may work in a team environment under the supervision of a project director. While other Biogenie personnel may come in contact with the client, the ultimate responsibility for client contact lies within our project managers, thus making their communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills very important. Tasks will range from the preparation of work proposals to contractual agreements to report writing, participating in the design of solutions to the planning and coordination of field workers on the site. While short periods of travel can be frequent and field work very rare, occasions may arise when the project manager may have longer periods away from the office as well as an occasion to get their hands dirty. Being a project manager is an important step towards becoming a project director.
