Achievements in Northern Regions

Remediation of a Former Tank Farm at Savitok Point, Near TuktoyaktukBiogenie always strives to propose a creative and customized solution that is also the most cost-effective and consistent with the target objectives for all remediation projects to be carried out in northern regions. When relevant, this solution must also conform to our philosophy of partnering with aboriginal people. Over the years, Biogenie has successfully completed a large number of northern projects whose locations are shown in Figure 3. Several of these projects involved the design, construction and operation of treatment processes adapted to the site characteristics or entailed complex logistical challenges related to the transport and off-site treatment of hazardous waste (PCBs, asbestos, lead, etc.).

Biogenie’s achievements include the remediation of former diesel electric power stations, meteorological stations, marine lighthouse stations, petroleum depots, radar stations, military facilities and pipeline spill sites. The successful implementation of these projects and partnering with aboriginal communities make Biogenie a leader in the remediation of contaminated sites in northern regions.
