Contexte
A petroleum depot located on a military base in France, housing
several reservoirs, had been in operation for over 20 years.
Corrosion of the reservoirs gave way to leaks responsible for the
contamination of neighboring soil. The contaminated area was found
to be between 0.5 and 2.5 meters in depth, with the water table
located at 1.5 meters below the surface.
Solution
An ex situ Biopile process coupled with a biofilter for
the treatment of gas effluents lowered the initial average total
petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) concentration from 12,500 ppm to a
residual concentration of 430 ppm in 12 weeks of treatment.
Services
-
Management and supervision of soil excavation;
-
Ex situ Biopile treatment of 1,300 tons of soil containing TPHs
in excess of 5,000 ppm;
-
Water treatment for petroleum hydrocarbon contamination.
